ISO 14001:2026 is now current
The new edition retains the proven ISO 14001 framework while providing a clearer structure, easier navigation and stronger alignment with current environmental priorities. ISO 14001:2015 is no longer the current edition.
Areas of focus
- Measurable improvement in environmental performance.
- Climate change, biodiversity and resource efficiency in organisational context.
- Systematic monitoring of legal and other compliance obligations.
- Smoother integration with other ISO management systems.
Preparing for transition
Review environmental aspects, life-cycle thinking, compliance obligations and performance indicators against the new edition. Confirm that objectives reflect environmental risks and opportunities, and include necessary changes in internal audit and management review plans.
